Tens of thousands gather in Istanbul to protest prophet cartoons
    By: Associated Press
    Published: February 19, 2006

Tens of thousands of protesters gathered in Istanbul Sunday to protest cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad, chanting slogans against Denmark, Israel and the United States.

The protest was organized by the Islamic Felicity Party, whose leaders shouted over loudspeakers that the massive crowd symbolized the anger of the world's 1.5 billion Muslims and urged them to "resist oppression."

Again, I am going to ask, what is the point? In any of those stories is it the entire 1.6 billion muslim population doing this or just a handful of the vast majority?

I will walk you through it.

No these pictures don?t show the entire 1.6 billion Muslim population but if you take the time to look you will see the diversity of locations and ethnic populations involved.

Let?s use Istanbul as an example. The article says tens of thousands so using a conservative numbers of 15,000 we can estimate that for every person that is dedicated and agitated enough to protest there are at least 20 people sitting at home that agree with them. So in this one city alone 15,000 x 20 = 300,000. Now I don?t find that comforting, do you?

And look through my posts and find where I have said that the protestors represent every Muslim. I haven?t and I don?t think every single one wants war, but the number of ?extremists? are not as low as the liberals want us to believe.

I don?t know about you but if only ? of the 1.6 billion strap on bombs and we are in trouble.

we had 200 odd protestors in London, they were all found to have come form the same Radical Mosque indeed if you read the banners they are all in the same handwritting....... Rentamob!!

Though one idiot amongst them decieded to dress up as a suicide bomber, Londoners still with 7/7 in mind were quite unforgiving, said clown was arrested a few days after as much for his own safety. Turns out he was on remand serving 4 of an 5 1/2 year sentence for cocaine dealing, How very Muslim esque...not

By ALI KOTARUMALOS, Associated Press Writer

In Jakarta, about 400 people marched to the heavily fortified U.S. mission in the center of the city, behind a banner reading "We are ready to attack the enemies of the Prophet."

Protesters throwing stones and brandishing wooden staves tried to break through the gates. They set fire to U.S. flags and a poster of President Bush and smashed the windows of a guard outpost before dispersing after a few minutes.

The U.S. Embassy called the attacks deplorable, describing them as acts of "thuggery."

A protest organizer said the West, and particularly the United States, is attacking Islam.

"They want to destroy Islam through the issue of terrorism ... and all those things are engineered by the United States," said Maksuni, who only uses one name.

I am not going to "defend" my position, I simply posted this topic to illustrate the current problems with the "Religion of Peace" and to open the eyes of some of the more dense amongst you. I see my mission failed. Diversity training? You have got to be joking. If we as a nation had taken the stance some of you apologists advocate today we would all be speaking German now, with an English accent because we never would have become a nation in the first place. Your political correctness is going to be the death of Western Civilization. Call me racist if you want, call me anything you want. I think you are idiots.

You haven't had the courtesy of responding to my request. May I ask why?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I must have overlooked it just like you overlooked my posting my email address and asking you to shoot me an email to catch you up on some things.

I posted an article I was sent in email and the original writer stated it. But in this case I think outrage could be used to describe muslim reaction to every perceived slight against their religion, yet no similar outcries from the "majority" of "peaceful" muslims against jihadist and militant muslim activites. I guess news headlines are just a figment of my racist imagination...

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Aww, our very own Al Gore at HostBoard. Your BS sounds increasingly more Gore-esque everyday. Ofcourse Raven is right, so long as we tread lightly and don't do anything to offend them we will be OK. So long as the western world does not say or do anything they may find offensive, they will not riot and carry an agenda of intolerance. If we just be nice to them they will abandon their hatred of Israel and be all nice and stuff. And anyone who voices an opinion contrary to your politically correct BS is racist. I would rather be a racist in this case than a fool.

I would really, really like to see your points of view BS/Raven/Pina et al, but I just cannot get my head that far up my ass...
